Depot Medroxyprogesterone Acetate Use and the Development and Progression of Uterine Leiomyoma
CONCLUSION: Recent use of DMPA was associated with reduced leiomyoma development and increased leiomyoma loss. Such changes in early leiomyoma development in young women could delay symptom onset and reduce the need for invasive treatment.PMID:35576339 | PMC:PMC9015023 | DOI:10.1097/AOG.0000000000004745

Reproductive and pregnancy outcomes of fertility-sparing treatments for early-stage endometrial cancer or atypical hyperplasia: A systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSION: Fertility-sparing treatment in women with endometrial cancer or hyperplasia is associated with an overall good response to therapy, good chance of achieving pregnancy and a good livebirth rate. Diagnostic follow-up with hysteroscopy was associated with a higher pregnancy rate, although this requires confirmation in adequately powered randomized trials.PMID:35526471 | DOI:10.1016/j.ejogrb.2022.04.019

GSE200312 Glucocorticoid recptor knockdown in primary amnion epithelial cells treated with MPA and TNFa
Contributors : Sarah J Cunningham ; Terrence K Allen ; Tim E Reddy ; Alejandro BarreraSeries Type : Expression profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Homo sapiensTo analyze the effect of glucocorticoids on primary amnion epthelial cells, we harvested tissue samples from 10 healthy ceseaean section patients. We knocked down the glucocorticoid receptor with an siRNA or used a control siRNA. We treated samples with medroxyprogesterone acetate. Half the cells we subjected to a TNFa challenge

Awareness of the non-contraceptive benefits of reversible contraceptive methods in a cohort of Brazilian women: an exploratory study
CONCLUSIONS: We found low awareness regarding the associated lower risk of ovarian, endometrial and cervical cancer associated with the use of some contraceptives, evidencing the need to provide more information about the non-contraceptive benefits during training for health care providers.PMID:35377262 | DOI:10.1080/13625187.2022.2054983
