Abstracts of Presentations at the Association of Clinical Scientists 143 < sup > rd < /sup > Meeting Louisville, KY May 11-14,2022
Conclusion: These assays are suitable for routine diagnostic. The UltraFast NextGenPCR is the fastest with average time (30mins), followed by Agilent (2 hrs) and MassArray (6hrs). Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to examine, measure and compare results from different assays for SARS detection, evaluate and diagnose accurately, as well as being able to plan, organize and recommend a diagnostic procedure for diagnostic laboratory. Key words: SARS-CoV-2, RNA extraction, RT-PCR, limit of detection, quantification cycle, COVID-19, in vitro diagnostic tests, Agilent, Massarray, Ultrafast. [20] From t...

Knockdown of SERPINB2 enhances the osteogenic differentiation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells via activation of the Wnt/ β-catenin signalling pathway
CONCLUSIONS: Taken together, these findings indicate that SERPINB2 silencing promoted osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs via the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway, and silenced SERPINB2 in vivo effectively promotes fracture healing, suggesting that SERPINB2 may be a novel target for bone fracture healing.PMID:34620242 | DOI:10.1186/s13287-021-02581-6

RNA-Seq revealed ATF3-regulated inflammation induced by silica.
CONCLUSION: This indicated that ATF3 may be a potential early diagnostic biomarker for silicosis and ATF3 acts as a repressor in inflammatory responses induced by silica. PMID: 29102675 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Improving the osteogenic efficacy of BMP2 with mechano growth factor by regulating the signaling events in BMP pathway
Abstract Local application of bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2) is known to promote large bone defect healing and BMP2-initiated bone regeneration could be enhanced by an additional mechanical stimulation. The C-terminal 24-a.a. peptide of mechano growth factor (MGF24E), a mechanical-sensitive molecule, has been demonstrated to promote bone healing. Here, we propose a hypothesis that MGF24E could also improve the osteogenic efficacy of BMP2 by regulating the signaling events in the BMP pathway. To confirm the hypothesis, the potentials of MGF24E, BMP2 and BMP2/MGF24E combination treatments on the phosphorylation...
