Classification accuracy and resistance to coaching of the Spanish version of the Inventory of Problems -29 and the Inventory of Problems - Memory: a simulation study with mTBI patients
Conclusions: The results confirm that both of the IOP measures offer a similarly valid but different perspective compared to SIMS when assessing the credibility of symptoms of mTBI. The encouraging findings indicate that both tests are a valuable addition to the symptom validity practices of forensic professionals. Additional research in multiple contexts and with diverse conditions is warranted.PMID:37615421 | DOI:10.1080/13854046.2023.2249171

Morbidity and Mortality of Very-Low-Birthweight Twin Infants according to Their Sex and the Sex of the Co-Twin: A Retrospective Cohort Study
CONCLUSIONS: Among VLBW twins from 23+0 to 31+6 weeks of GA, male infants have higher risk of morbidity and mortality overall. In cases of pregnancies with different-sex foetuses, males seem to improve their results, while these do not change for females. The underlying mechanism of this influence deserves further investigation.PMID:37619541 | DOI:10.1159/000531106

An overview on the relationship between residential radon and lung cancer: what we know and future research
Clin Transl Oncol. 2023 Aug 23. doi: 10.1007/s12094-023-03308-0. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWe aim to provide an overview of the research available on indoor radon and lung cancer, with a special focus on Spanish investigations. Early studies on underground miners established the link between radon and lung cancer, which was later confirmed for the general population by residential case-control studies. Spain contributed with extensive evidence, including 5 multicentric, hospital-based, case-control studies in the last 30 years, exploring diverse aspects, such as radon's effect on never-smokers, molecular pathways linki...

This study aimed to explore 1) the potential associations of socioeconomic variables (SES and maternal education attainment) with mental health scores and residential greenness, blueness and NO2 metrics, and, 2) the association between greenness and blueness metrics and mental health scores of children in the Spanish INfancia y Medio Ambiente (INMA) birth cohort at two different time points. The study samples were composed of 1738 six-to eight-year-olds (49% female) and 1449 ten-to twelve-year-olds (living in Asturias, Gipuzkoa, Sabadell and Valencia, Spain. Pharmacokinetics of eculizumab in adult and pediatric patients with atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome and C3 glomerulopathy
CONCLUSIONS: The present study reports supratherapeutic concentrations of eculizumab in patients with aHUS, and defines higher concentrations than those described in the data sheet to achieve blockade, thus encouraging the personalization of treatment with eculizumab.PMID:37612186 | DOI:10.1016/j.farma.2023.07.009

Current situation and evolution of the availability of drugs in the paediatric population in Spain
CONCLUSIONS: Drugs with authorised indications are increasingly available in the paediatric population and the trend is to extend the indication of authorised drugs to the adult population. However, barriers in terms of financing and marketing need to be expedited and overcome to facilitate access to them.PMID:37612184 | DOI:10.1016/j.farma.2023.07.014
