Buccal methadone for severe cancer pain: a case report
Malignant bowel obstruction describes the mechanical and/or functional obstruction of the intestine secondary to cancer and its sequelae that prevents physiological transit of nutrients and digestion (1). It is most often experienced by people with cancer originating in the abdomen or pelvis and is relatively common in advanced disease with an incidence of 10-28% in those with gastrointestinal cancers and up to 51% of women with advanced ovarian cancer (2-4). Prognosis is usually poor with a mean survival of four to six weeks (1,5).

Factors associated with knowledge of diagnosis, prognosis & amp; distress in cancer patients receiving palliative care - A retrospective cohort analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Higher educational levels and better socio-economic status increase the likelihood of patients being aware of their diagnosis and prognosis. Being unaware of the prognosis remains associated with the higher level of distress.PMID:37530312

Comparative effectiveness of verbal instruction versus video-based education (VIVid) among family caregivers for improving the quality of life in advanced head and neck cancer patients receiving palliative care in Eastern India: a randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSION: VBE intervention using smart-phone may offer caregivers a viable means of enhancing self-management while improving patients' QoL within the socio-cultural challenges for home-based palliative care in India.
