Probiotics in IBS: A Treatment Boon or a Pill Bulk: RCT-based Analysis
CONCLUSION: Although the origin of disease is functional there is a significant relief with probiotics. Probiotics are boon in treatment rather than financial burden on exhausted and frustrated patients who seeks relief for a better quality of life. References Chang L, Lembo A, Sultan S. Functional constipation: A common  and often overlooked cause for abdominal pain in children
AbstractThe most common causes for chronic pain abdomen in pediatric practice are functional abdominal pain disorders, a subgroup of functional gastrointestinal disorders under the Rome IV classification. Constipation is usually associated with painful defecation, but abdominal pain as a predominant or presenting symptom of functional constipation (FC) is not very well recognized. We conducted this study to ascertain the prevalence of FC in chronic pain abdomen and proportion of FC children presenting with predominant complaints of pain abdomen. Prevalence of FC and functional abdominal pain was ascertained separately ov...

Efficient elimination of phenazone by an electro-assisted Fe < sup > 3+ < /sup > -EDDS/PS process at neutral pH: Kinetics, mechanistic insights and toxicity evaluation
Chemosphere. 2023 Apr 5:138598. doi: 10.1016/j.chemosphere.2023.138598. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe feasibility of the degradation of phenazone (PNZ), a common anti-inflammatory drug used for reducing pain and fever, in water at neutral pH by an electrochemically assisted Fe3+-ethylenediamine disuccinate-activated persulfate process (EC/Fe3+-EDDS/PS) was investigated. The efficient removal of PNZ at neutral pH condition was mainly attributed to the continuous activation of PS via electrochemically driven regenerated Fe2+ from a Fe3+-EDDS complex at the cathode. The influence of several critical parameters, including ...
