Calibration of communication skills items in OSCE checklists according to the MAAS-Global
Communication skills (CS) are commonly assessed using ’communication items’ in Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) station checklists. Our aim is to calibrate the communication component of OSCE station checklists according to the MAAS-Global which is a valid and reliable standard to assess CS in undergraduate medical education.

Medical humanities: a closer look at learning
This study addressed the question from a medical education perspective and aimed to investigate what students at Trinity College Dublin learned from participating in a short medical humanities student-selected module in their first year of an undergraduate medical programme. A total of 156 students provided a written reflection on a memorable event that occurred during their student-selected module. Navigating uncertainty: Narrative Medicine in pregnancy options counseling education
The Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO), designates nondirective counseling of patients with unintended pregnancy, or “pregnancy options counseling” as a necessary competency in medical education [1]. The addition of this competency acknowledges that regardless of their chosen specialty, students will encounter patients grappling with decisions around unintended pregnancy. Such patients need clear counseling on their pregnancy options – to seek prenatal care, adoption or abortion – and students must learn to provide this information without judgment or coercion.
