Oral Immunotherapy for Multiple Foods in a Pediatric Allergy Clinic Setting.

Molecular Allergy Diagnostics as an Adjunct to Conventional Diagnostics in a Secondary Pediatric Referral Center.
CONCLUSIONS: Most patients in a secondary pediatric referral center with suspected IgE mediated allergy can be managed by conventional diagnostic methods. A randomized trial of subcutaneous allergy immunotherapy in inner-city asthmatic children < 4 years of age.
CONCLUSION: With the exception of asthma related quality of life, allergy immunotherapy was ineffective in improving asthma outcomes in this population of inner-city children < 4 years of age. These findings suggest that the effects of allergy immunotherapy depend on population specific factors and highlight the importance of precise predictors of immunotherapy efficacy. Fear of repeated injections in children younger than 4 years receiving subcutaneous allergy immunotherapy.
CONCLUSION: Our analysis suggests that most children receiving weekly subcutaneous immunotherapy lose their fear of injections during the treatment course. Single recombinant and purified major allergens and peptides: How they are made and how they change allergy diagnosis and treatment.
CONCLUSION: During the last 25 years more than several hundred allergen sequences were determined, which led to a production of recombinant allergens that mimic biochemically and immunologically their natural counterparts. Especially in Europe, recombinant allergens are increasingly replacing allergen extracts in diagnosis of allergy. Despite many challenges, such as high cost of clinical trials and regulative issues, allergy vaccines based on recombinant allergens and peptides are being developed and will likely soon be available on the market. Systemic IL ‐2/anti‐IL‐2Ab complex combined with sublingual immunotherapy suppresses experimental food allergy in mice through induction of mucosal regulatory T cells
In conclusion, the combination of two therapeutic strategies rendered Treg‐mediated tolerance more efficient compared to individual treatments and reversed the established IgE‐mediated food allergy. This approach highlights the ability of IL‐2C to expand Tregs, and it may represent a promising disease‐modifying therapy for managing food allergy. This article is protected by copyright.
