Induced Pluripotent Stem-cells Inhibit Experimental Bleomycin-induced Pulmonary Fibrosis through Regulation of the Insulin-like Growth Factor Signaling
Iran J Allergy Asthma Immunol. 2022 Jun 18;21(3):263-272. doi: 10.18502/ijaai.v21i3.9800.ABSTRACTIdiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is among the illnesses with a high mortality rate, yet no specific cause has been identified; as a result, successful treatment has not been achieved. Among the novel approaches for treating such hard-to-cure diseases are induced pluripotent stem cells (IPSCs). Some studies have shown these cells' potential in treating IPF. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the impact of IPSCs on insulin-like growth factor (Igf) signaling as a major contributor to IPF pathogenesis. C57BL/6 mice were intratra...

Prevalence and associations among metabolically unhealthy obesity, asthma exacerbations, and emergency department use
Helper type 1 T cell polarization and monocyte cell activation influence forced expiratory volume in 1 second/forced vital capacity and are affected by body mass index (BMI), insulin resistance, and serum lipoproteins. No study has assessed the impact of metabolic syndrome components on asthma symptom control.

Prevalence and associations between metabolically unhealthy obesity and asthma exacerbations and emergency department usage
Th1 cell polarization and monocyte cell activation influence FEV1/FVC and are affected by body mass index (BMI), insulin resistance, and serum lipoproteins. No study has assessed the impact of metabolic syndrome components on asthma symptom control.

Serious diabetic ketoacidosis induced by insulin allergy and anti ‐insulin antibody in an individual with type 2 diabetes mellitus
We showed a case with serious diabetic ketoacidosis induced by insulin allergy and anti-insulin antibody in a subject with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This case suggests that once we use exogenous human insulin and/or insulin-analog, multiple classes of antibodies against insulin, such as IgE and IgG antibodies, can be induced simultaneously. Moreover, this case showed that we should know that since insulin requirement may be very high under severe insulin resistance and serious DKA, we have to increase insulin dose without hesitation while monitoring pH, BE and other factors in order to save their lives. ABSTRACTDiabetic ke...

Serious diabetic ketoacidosis induced by insulin allergy and anti ‐insulin antibody in a subject with type 2 diabetes mellitus
AbstractDiabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is one of the most serious acute metabolic complications of diabetes mellitus (DM), and characterized by hyperglycemia, metabolic acidosis, and increased total ketone body concentrations. The main mechanism of DKA is a lack of insulin in the body. It has been reported that some immunological response is associated with insulin therapy. Herein, we report a case of serious DKA, which was induced by insulin allergy and anti-insulin antibody. This case clearly indicates that DKA can be induced by insulin allergy and anti-insulin antibodies in subjects with T2DM treated with insulin. Moreover...

Insulin allergy: a diagnostic and therapeutic strategy based on a retrospective cohort and a case –control study
Conclusions/interpretationSubject to validation, clinical likelihood criteria can effectively guide diabetologists towards an insulin allergy diagnosis before undertaking allergology tests. An IDR test shows the best diagnostic performance. A progressive management strategy can subsequently be implemented. Continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion is ultimately required in most patients.ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT01407640.Graphical abstract

Technologies for Type 1 Diabetes and Contact Dermatitis: Therapeutic Tools and Clinical Outcomes in a Cohort of Pediatric Patients
The increasing use of technological devices for the management of diabetes is related to the prolonged exposure of patients’ skin to chemical and mechanical agents and, consequently, to the increased risk of developing dermatological complications. Among these, contact dermatitis is the most insidious skin disorder. Despite the magnitude of the issue, no universally accepted recommendations on the management of this common complication are currently available. Our observational study aimed to describe all the solutions adopted by patients and their caregivers to treat and prevent the appearance of contact dermatitis and ...
