Medial Flap Coblation Turbinoplasty Versus Submucous Resection: Outcomes
CONCLUSION: Both submucous resection and medial flap coblation turbinoplasty are effective in relieving nasal obstruction and enabling optimal volume reduction with preservation of function of the inferior turbinate. Coblation turbinoplasty has superior outcomes in terms of better healing and less postoperative pain and crusting.PMID:37408328 | DOI:10.1177/19458924231185727

Allergic Acute Coronary Syndrome —Kounis Syndrome
Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) in the setting of an allergic/immunologic reaction is known as Kounis syndrome. It is an underdiagnosed and underrecognized disease entity. One must keep a high index of suspicions when managing a patient presenting with cardiac as well as allergic symptoms. There are 3 main variants to the syndrome. Treating the allergic reaction may alleviate the pain; however, ACS guidelines should be followed if cardiac ischemia is present.

Spondyloarthritides
The spondyloarthritides are a diverse group of distinct yet interrelated disease processes with overlapping clinical features. They are ankylosing spondylitis, reactive arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease –associated arthritis, and psoriatic arthritis. Genetically, these disease processes have been linked by the presence of HLA-B27. They manifest with axial and peripheral symptoms, such as inflammatory back pain, enthesitis, oligoarthritis, and dactylitis. The onset of symptoms can begin before the age of 45; however, because of the wide range of signs and symptoms, diagnosis can be delayed, leading to unchecked inflam...

Expanding superior mesenteric artery pseudoaneurysm
A 71-year-old female was evaluated for a recent history of left upper quadrant abdominal pain. She has longstanding early-onset atherosclerotic disease in multiple vascular beds, including the coronary, cerebrovascular, and visceral circulation. Nine years prior, during imaging for a juxtarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm, she was found to have high-grade superior mesenteric artery (SMA) stenosis with celiac artery occlusion. She underwent SMA stenting with CO2 due to severe contrast allergy. This was complicated by misdeployment of the stent and SMA dissection requiring placement of four additional stents.

Comparison of Adult Food-Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome to Crustaceans and Immediate-Type Food Allergy
CONCLUSION: FPIES and FA can be clearly differentiated by the abdominal symptoms, latency period, and duration of episodes. Furthermore, some FPIES patients do not necessarily need to avoid all crustaceans. Our findings lay the groundwork for establishing an algorithm that distinguishes FPIES from FA in adults.PMID:37330046 | DOI:10.1016/j.anai.2023.06.007
