Employing the sustained-release properties of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles to reveal a novel mechanism of sodium-hydrogen exchanger 1 in neuropathic pain
Transl Res. 2023 Sep 5:S1931-5244(23)00143-3. doi: 10.1016/j.trsl.2023.09.003. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTNeuropathic pain is caused by injury or disease of the somatosensory system, and its course is usually chronic. Several studies have been dedicated to investigating neuropathic pain-related targets; however, little attention has been paid to the persistent alterations that these targets, some of which may be crucial to the pathophysiology of neuropathic pain. The present study aimed to identify potential targets that may play a crucial role in neuropathic pain and validate their long-term impact. Through bioinformat...

Effect of canagliflozin in non-diabetic obese patients with albuminuria: A  randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial
CONCLUSION: Canagliflozin 100 mg daily was well tolerated but did not significantly reduce UACR in non-diabetic obese patients with microalbuminuria. However, a significant temporary decline in eGFR might reflect a subtle reduction in glomerular hyperfiltration.PMID:37675488 | DOI:10.5414/CN111143

A NaCrO < sub > 2 < /sub > @C free-standing cathode < em > via < /em > electrospinning for sodium-ion batteries
Chem Commun (Camb). 2023 Sep 6. doi: 10.1039/d3cc02610h. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA flexible free-standing cathode is innovatively constructed with NaCrO2 as the electrochemical active substance via an electrospinning technique. The as constructed NaCrO2@C flexible free-standing cathode exhibits exceptional rate performance (106 mA h g-1 at 10C) and cyclability (retention rate of 87.5% after 300 cycles at 0.2C). This work provides a brand-new perspective to the development of flexible free-standing cathodes.PMID:37671747 | DOI:10.1039/d3cc02610h

Controllable fabrication of vanadium selenium nanosheets for a high-performance Na-ion battery anode
Chem Commun (Camb). 2023 Sep 6. doi: 10.1039/d3cc03289b. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTVanadium selenium has gained attention as a potential anode for sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) due to the tunable crystal structure, effective channels for Na+ diffusion, and high theoretical specific capacity. However, the pursuit of vanadium selenium remains an enormous challenge. Herein, we demonstrated that V2Se9 nanosheets could be fabricated facilely and efficiently via a one-pot synthesis method with the careful selection of the solvent/surfactant. The V2Se9 anode have demonstrated excellent electrochemical performance for SIBs. An i...

Supermarket Transaction Records In Dietary Evaluation - The STRIDE study: validation against self-reported dietary intake
CONCLUSIONS: Agreement between purchases and intake was highly variable; strongest for smaller loyal households, and for relative values. For some customers, relative nutrient purchases are a reasonable proxy for dietary composition indicating utility in population-level dietary research.PMID:37671553 | DOI:10.1017/S1368980023001842
