Call the on-Call: Authentic Team Training on an Interprofessional Training Ward - A Case Study
CONCLUSION: The learning activity created new opportunities for students to reflect on interprofessional collaboration. Constant physical proximity during training is not essential for effective healthcare team building. Splitting the student team during training may in fact enhance interprofessional learning and lead to progression in interprofessional communication.PMID:37588849 | PMC:PMC10426451 | DOI:10.2147/AMEP.S413723

Embarking on a cultural journey: a qualitative study of new graduate physiotherapists' experiences of working in First Nations Australian health settings
CONCLUSION: New graduate physiotherapists reported positive experiences when working within a First Nations Australian health setting, underpinned by building a strong therapeutic relationship through rapport building; navigating challenges alongside their clients; and delving into critical self-reflection.PMID:37585714 | DOI:10.1080/09593985.2023.2246547

Physiotherapists' decision-making about transition to independent walking in hospital after stroke: a qualitative study
CONCLUSIONS: Decision-making about independent walking for people in a hospital after a stroke is complex. Improved guidance about clinical assessment of capacity and determining acceptable risk may enable physiotherapists to engage more in shared decision-making.IMPLICATIONS FOR REHABILITATIONRegaining independence in walking after a stroke comes with the potential risk of falls.Assessment of walking safety should be specific to the complexity of the situation and consider perception and cognition.Benefits of activity and autonomy, and the risk of falls need to be considered in decisions about walking independence.Patient...

Taking the first step: protocol for a cluster randomised implementation trial comparing strategies on access to exercise programmes for people with knee osteoarthritis
BMJ Open. 2023 Aug 11;13(8):e071045. doi: 10.1136/bmjopen-2022-071045.ABSTRACTINTRODUCTION: This cluster randomised implementation trial will assess the effect of two behavioural change interventions on the proportion of people with structural knee osteoarthritis (OA) referred and attending exercise-based professionals (physiotherapists and exercise physiologists). The interventions are designed to increase awareness of guidelines, benefits and access pathways for exercise therapy. We hypothesise either strategy will result in more people with knee OA being referred and attending physiotherapy/exercise physiology than curr...

Interdisciplinary multimodal assessment : Interprofessional interaction in team meetings and final talks
DISCUSSION: The provision of the new care service as an interdisciplinary task in a team goes beyond existing structural and process parameters in the definition of framework conditions in interdisciplinary multimodal pain therapy and should therefore also take personal competencies and professional competencies into account. Therefore, new dimensions arise for the implementation of the IMA, which should be discussed in the future.PMID:37563328 | DOI:10.1007/s00482-023-00740-7

PGPR-driven phytoremediation and physiobiochemical response of Miscanthus × giganteus to stress induced by the trace elements
Environ Sci Pollut Res Int. 2023 Aug 11. doi: 10.1007/s11356-023-29031-5. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe effect of inoculation of Miscanthus × giganteus Greef et Deu by the plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPRs) to the phytoremediation process and physio-biochemical plant's parameters was investigated in soil contaminated with the trace elements (TEs) from the Tekeli mining complex, Kazakhstan. Yeast Trichosporon sp. CA1, strains Rhizobium sp. Zn1-1, Shinella sp. Zn5-6, and Pseudomonas sp. CHA1-4, resistant to Zn and Pb, were isolated from the rhizosphere of M × g when the plant was cultivated in the same contam...
