Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection presenting as stroke and meningoencephalitis with aortic and subclavian aneurysms without pulmonary involvement- a rare case report (P5.122)
Conclusion Mycoplasma infection should be considered in patients presenting with fever, aseptic meningitis and stoke even in absence of respiratory symptoms. The first documented case of hemorrhagic stroke caused by Group B streptococcal meningitis
We report the case of a 47 year-old female with Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B beta-hemolytic streptococcus) meningitis complicated by hemorrhagic stroke. The patient presented to the emergency department with altered mental status, agitation, confusion, respiratory distress and fever of one-day duration. Labs showed left shift leukocytosis. CSF exhibited a high white blood cell count with a predominant population of polymononuclear cells, high glucose and protein concentration. CSF cultures grew Streptococcus agalactiae. Central nervous system (CNS) manifestations of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection include encephalopathy, encephalitis, meningitis, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, and stroke [1], both as a result of direct viral invasion of the central nervous system [2 –5] and as a consequence of critical illness and systemic infection [6]. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may also cause significant changes in endothelial morphology, including disruption of intercellular junctions, cell swelling, and a loss of contact with the basal membrane [7].

A case of Lemierre's syndrome causing panhypopituitarism, cavernous sinus thrombosis, ischaemic stroke and pulmonary embolism
We present the case of a previously well 19-year-old man, who presented acutely unwell with meningitis and sepsis. Fusobacterium necrophorum was isolated from peripheral blood cultures and identified on cerebrospinal fluid with 16S rDNA Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Imaging demonstrated internal jugular vein thrombosis with subsequent cavernous venous sinus thrombosis. Pituitary function tests were suggestive of panhypopituitarism.
