Increased Serum EphrinA1 Is Associated With Parenchymal Hematoma (PH) After Ischemic Stroke

Lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels are associated with an increased risk of hematoma expansion and ensuing mortality in acute ICH patients
ConclusionsLower LDL-C levels (<  1.4 mmol/L) are associated with an increased risk of HE and ensuing mortality in acute ICH patients. Maintaining an optimal LDL-C range may have therapeutic potential against HE which merits further investigation.

Meta-Analysis of Dyslipidemia Management for the Prevention of Ischemic Stroke Recurrence in China
Conclusions: Effective lipid-lowering therapy could decrease the blood LDL-C level, which had a protective effect against stroke recurrence. These results support the use of predicted baseline cerebrovascular disease risk equations to inform decisions regarding blood lipid-lowering treatment in ischemic stroke patients in China.

Prestroke statin use enhances collateralization in acute ischemic stroke patients.
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest that prestroke statin use was associated with good leptomeningeal collaterals and clinical outcomes in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients presenting with occlusion of the middle cerebral artery. Effects of High Dose of Atorvastatin for Preventing Periprocedural Ischemic Brain Damage in Patients Undergoing Carotid Artery Stenting (PICAS) in China: A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial
This study is the first to assess whether high-dose atorvastatin treatment is capable of reducing the incidence of perioperative cerebral ischemic injury in patients of Chinese ethnicity undergoing CAS.
