Utility of < em > China < /em > -PAR stroke equations for predicting 10-year stroke risk in the rural Inner Mongolian population in China
CONCLUSION: The China-PAR stroke equations have potential predictive ability for 10-year stroke risk in the rural Inner Mongolian women, while it might not suit the rural Inner Mongolian men well. How do cardiovascular risk factors correlate with post-stroke cognitive function: Directly or indirectly through stroke severity?
ConclusionThis is the first Chinese study exploring the moderated and mediating associations between cardiovascular risk factors, stroke severity, and cognitive function after stroke. Age, female sex, and atrial fibrillation were directly associated with lower cognition after stroke. The combination of hypertension might have a positive effect on cognition.

Prevalence of stroke and associated risk factors: a population-based cross-sectional study from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of China
Conclusions
The prevalence of stroke, the related risk factors and the detection rate of high-risk individuals were clarified. The prevalence rates of hypertension, overweight or obesity and diabetes in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau were all higher than the Chinese average. Higher-altitude exposure may be an independent risk factor for stroke.

Serum homocysteine level is an independent risk factor for 1-year stroke recurrence in patients with acute ischemic stroke and H-type hypertension: results from the Xi'an stroke registry study of China
ConclusionsIn patients with AIS and H-type hypertension, the serum homocysteine level was an independent risk factor for 1-year stroke recurrence. A serum homocysteine level of ≥25 μmol/L significantly increased the risk of 1-year stroke recurrence. These findings can inform the creation of a more precise homocysteine reference range for the prevention and treatment of 1-year stroke recurrence in patients with AIS and H-type hypertension and provide a theoretical foundation for the individualized prevention and treatment of stroke recurrence.

Mediation effect of stroke recurrence in the association between post-stroke interleukin-6 and functional disability
CONCLUSIONS: Stroke recurrence mediates less than 20% of the association between IL-6 and functional outcome at 90 days among patients with acute ischemic stroke. Trajectory and predictors of family function in caregivers of stroke survivors: A longitudinal study of the first 6 months after stroke
CONCLUSIONS: Family function of caregivers of stroke survivors gradually increased during the first 6 months after stroke. However, some families demonstrated poor functioning. Effectiveness of a smartphone-enabled dyadic self-care programme (SDSCP) for stroke survivors and caregivers: study protocol for a randomised controlled trial
This study has been approved by the Ethics Committee of Zhengzhou University (ZZUIRB 2021–115) in January 2021. The results achieved in this study will facilitate the clinical practice to improve self-care of stroke survivors and promote dyadic health outcomes for stroke patients and caregivers.

Plasma retinol and the risk of first stroke in hypertensive adults: a nested case-control study.
Conclusions: Our data showed a significant inverse association between plasma retinol and the risk of first stroke among Chinese hypertensive adults. This study was registered at clinicaltrials.gov as NCT00794885.

The U-shaped relationship between serum methylene tetrahydrofolate reductase and large-artery atherosclerotic stroke.
CONCLUSIONS: There is a significant U-shaped relationship between serum MTHFR levels and large-artery atherosclerotic stroke. Our findings raise the possibility that serum MTHFR may have a potential role in large-artery atherosclerotic stroke.
