Anxiety is associated with increased risk for atrial cardiopathy
This study aimed to investigate the association of anxiety with atrial cardiopathy, giving a clue to the causal relationship of this mind –heart link. Conclusion: Intracranial artery calcification is common in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease and the intracranial carotid artery is most frequently affected. Intracranial arterial calcifications might be associated with imaging markers of SVD and are highly correlated with WMHs, lacunes, and CMBs. Cryptogenic stroke in a young patient with heart disease and kidney failure.
CONCLUSIONS: Fabry's disease must be suspected in young males with heart disease, stroke or peripheral neuropathy, skin lesions, kidney failure and a history of cases in the family. Heart rate and ischemic stroke: the REasons for Geographic And Racial Differences in Stroke (REGARDS) study
ConclusionIn REGARDS, high resting heart rates were associated with an increased risk of ischemic stroke compared with low heart rates. Further research is needed to examine whether interventions aimed to reduce heart rate decrease stroke risk.
