Conclusion The high prevalence of comorbidities in patients with stroke indicates the need for therapies in preclinical studies that take into account these comorbidities in order to avoid failures in translation to the patient. IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 3182: Predictive Model and Mortality Risk Score during Admission for Ischaemic Stroke with Conservative Treatment
Conclusions: It is possible to create a predictive model of mortality for patients with ischaemic stroke from which important advances can be made towards optimising the quality and efficiency of care. The model results are available within a few minutes of admission and would provide a valuable complementary resource for the neurologist.

Staphylococcus aureus prosthetic valve endocarditis (SAPVE) has a poor prognosis. There are no large series that accurately describe this entity. This is a retrospective observational study on a prospective cohort from 3 Spanish reference hospitals for cardiac surgery, including 78 definitive episodes of left SAPVE between 1996 and 2016. Fifty percent had a Charlson Index score>5; 53% were health care-related. Twenty percent did not present fever. Association between acute heart failure and major cardiovascular events in atrial fibrillation patients presenting at the emergency department: an EMERG-AF ancillary study

Cardiovascular diseases in people with diabetes mellitus in Spain according to the Primary Care Clinical Database (BDCAP) in 2017

Results of global fats and carbs study not very relevant for UK
Conclusion The results of the study have been presented in the media as if they overturn all current dietary guidelines. In the UK at least, that is completely misleading. The study results support the UK guidelines, having found that people who get around 50% of their calories from carbohydrates and 35% from fat, as recommended by Public Health England, were likely to live the longest.
