Efficacy and Safety of Ticagrelor Compared to Clopidogrel in Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: A Meta-Analysis.
CONCLUSION: The TA treatment in the European and American populations is more beneficial and safer than CA treatment. However, although the Asian population has this benefit, the risk of bleeding is significantly increased as well, and care should be taken when choosing antiplatelet drugs. Cardiovascular mortality and morbidity in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: Almost one third of OHCA patients undergoing PCI die and more than one third of the fatalities are attributable to cardiovascular causes. The burden of ischemic and bleeding complications was consistently higher and the success rates of PCI lower among OHCA as compared to non-OHCA patients. Anti-thrombotic strategies in patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing PCI
AbstractTriple anti-thrombotic therapy combining oral anticoagulation and dual anti-platelet therapy following percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with atrial fibrillation was considered as standard and recommended by guidelines. While bleeding risk is considerable with that approach, data for efficacy are scare. Several trials assessed the possibility of reducing anti-thrombotic treatment by mainly shortening the exposure to acetylsalicylic acid. Dropping one of the anti-platelet components might increase the risk of stent thrombosis, myocardial infarction or stroke. Despite that fear, the recent trials ’ pri...

Ticagrelor alone vs. ticagrelor plus aspirin following percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndromes: TWILIGHT-ACS
Conclusion  Among patients with or without NSTE-ACS who have completed an initial 3-month course of DAPT following PCI with DES, ticagrelor monotherapy reduced clinically meaningful bleeding events without increasing ischaemic risk as compared with ticagrelor plus aspirin. The benefits of ticagrelor monotherapy with respect to bleeding events were more pronounced in patients with NSTE-ACS.Trial registrationClinicaltrials.gov identifier: NCT02270242.

Ticagrelor or Prasugrel in Patients with ST-Segment-Elevation Myocardial Infarction Undergoing Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
Conclusions: In patients with STEMI undergoing primary PCI, there was no significant difference in the primary endpoint between prasugrel and ticagrelor. Ticagrelor was associated with a significant increase in the risk for recurrent myocardial infarction. Clinical Trial Registration: URL: https://www.clinicaltrials.gov; Unique identifier NCT01944800. Antithrombotic Therapy and Outcomes of Patients With New-Onset Transient Atrial Fibrillation After ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction
Conclusions: There is not a widely accepted treatment algorithm in patients with STEMI who complicated with new-onset AF in clinical guidelines. The current study indicated that transient form of new-onset AF might not require long-term VKA. Besides, addition of VKA to DAPT therapy may increase the rates of major and minor bleeding.

Efficacy and safety of abciximab versus tirofiban in addition to ticagrelor in STEMI patients undergoing primary percutaneous intervention.
The objectives were to assess the efficacy and safety of abciximab versus tirofiban in patients with ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI) and pretreated with ticagrelor, and to identify independent predictor factors of efficacy, bleeding and platelet drop. Three hundred sixty-two patients were divided by GPI administered. Clinical, laboratory, angiographic and outcome characteristics were compared. The primary objective was a composite efficacy endpoint (death from any cause, nonfatal myocardial infarction and nonfatal stroke) at 30 days. The seconda...

Efficacy and safety of ticagrelor monotherapy in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: a meta-analysis
Clin Pharmacol Ther. 2021 Mar 5. doi: 10.1002/cpt.2226. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) and subsequent P2Y12 inhibitor monotherapy, particularly ticagrelor, is an emerging treatment strategy in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This meta-analysis was designed to investigate whether short-term DAPT followed by ticagrelor monotherapy is associated with a favorable outcome as compared to standard DAPT. 1-3 months of DAPT was termed "short-term" DAPT, 6-12 months DAPT was termed "standard" DAPT. The primary outcome was the composite of major adverse cardiovascular even...

Reduced-Dose Prasugrel versus Clopidogrel for Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
Int Heart J. 2021 Mar 17. doi: 10.1536/ihj.20-508. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWhether reduced-dose prasugrel has a better efficacy or safety than standard-dose clopidogrel remains unknown in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).A systematic search of PubMed, EMBASE, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Library from database inception to May 1, 2020 was performed to compare the clinical outcomes in patients with acute coronary syndrome or stable coronary artery disease undergoing PCI between those treated with reduced-dose prasugrel and clopidogrel. The pooled odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (...
