Federal loan repayment/finance (Resident)
As the payment will be starting soon from October 1st, I wanted to ask what you guys are planning to do.. refinance? Not pay during residency? Pay minimum without refinancing? I've been following white coat investor lately as well and I just wanted to see what everyone's planning, especially because I'm in dilemma. I'm a 1st year resident making ~65K/yr. I have s/o who's willing to help with all other costs and said to use my all residents salary for loan repayment. I'm not sure if I should... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

wRVU negotiations
Currently pushing back and attempting to negotiate with Admin regarding decreases to $/RVU for Podiatry in 2023. This was initially done to reflect implementation of CMS wRVU changes. However, they also claim that they were overpaying us and made additional changes to $/RVU to better reflect median benchmark data for all providers. The $/RVU for PCPs went up and the $/RVU for select surgical specialties went down. Has anyone successfully negotiated the RVU conversion factor with employers... Podiatry paid call
New topic. Who gets paid for call? If so how did you justify this? If not what has admin said to you saying why they won’t? How much do you get paid weekdays and weekends? What geographical location are you? Etc I’ve worked at two hospitals and it seems ortho, in general, gets paid for call not just for their specialty but because they can take general ortho call which no one can argue with that. I’ve moved to a bigger system now but there are ortho specialties who do NOT have to take... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Any non surgical podiatry residencies?
I’m a 3rd year student and I was just asking for reassurance to make sure I have the correct information. There are no non surgical residency programs that we can attend correct? I’m having second thoughts about continuing school because I don’t think I want to trudge my way through a surgical residency (Source: Student Doctor Network)

PMSR vs PMSR/RRA
I am first year resident and I recently found out I was only taken for PMSR even though I applied PMSR/RRA position. Will just PMSR limit me or should I transfer to another program for PMSR/RRA? Will I Ben able to do everything with just PMSR? Thank you and I look forward to your counsel. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Residency Personal Statement
What should I include in my personal statement? Should it be purely about my growth and qualities about myself, my interests in podiatry, or should I include accomplishments and academics sprinkled in? Should I keep it between 1-2 pages? What's the hallmark of a good personal statement? Thanks in advance! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

10 Guidelines for Happiness as a DPM Associate
Job search season is upon us... and for most DPMs, it continues 24/7/365. Most DPMs are working as associates. Most grads, no matter what they target or want, will take those DPM associate positions. There's a ton of negativity (most of it founded!) in podiatry with higher tuitions and few good jobs. The saturation for the surgery and high income jobs for DPMs is quite real. The competition in private practice pts is quite high already, and the newest schools are just gettin started... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Presentation resource
So I have an upcoming presentation I foolishly volunteered to do on general clinical podiatry stuff for a bunch of non-pods. Seeing as I'm not a resident or a student anymore, the last thing I want to do is make a presentation. Does anyone have a resource for a bunch of canned presentations I can pull from? Not like ACFAS surgical stuff, but like ingrown nails and such. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
