Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder with an intense fear of being overweight (i.e. distorted body image), and self-starvation and excessive weight loss. It is more common in women (1.2%) than men (0.2%) but can be seen in both genders. (Osaka University) Osaka University researchers have developed a single-crystal cobalt phosphide nanorod catalyst for the reductive amination of carbonyl compounds to primary amines. The nanorod catalyst performed better than conventional catalysts, was stable in air, and was effective under mild conditions. Additionally, it could be reused multiple times without loss of activity.
