Effect of topical florfenicol, terbinafine and mometasone furoate ear drops on adrenocortical function in healthy small breed dogs with bilateral otitis externa
CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Results demonstrated no evidence of adrenocortical suppression, suggesting that there is no need to delay adrenocortical function testing in dogs treated with topical florfenicol/terbinafine/mometasone furoate when applied as per the manufacturer's recommendations.PMID:34904763 | DOI:10.1111/vde.13051 (Source: Veterinary Dermatology)

Unusual oral mucositis
A 53-year-old woman, a sales negotiator by profession, was referred to the Oral and Maxillofacial Diseases Clinic of Kuopio University Hospital for oral mucosal changes. The patient had epilepsy and allergic rhinitis. Her regular medication included carbamazepine and clonazepam, as well as occasional medications of cetirizine, mometasone furoate, salbutamol and budesonide. Additionally, she was using vitamin B and lactic acid bacteria supplements. The patient had aspirin, environmental and several plant food allergies She had no history of smoking or alcohol use. Systematic Evaluation of the Effect of Formulation Variables on In Vitro Performance of Mometasone Furoate Suspension-Metered Dose Inhalers
AbstractThe therapeutic benefits of metered dose inhalers (MDIs) in pulmonary disorders are mainly driven by aerosol performance, which depends on formulation variables (drug and excipients), device design, and patient interactions. The present study provides a comprehensive investigation to better understand the effect of formulation variables on mometasone furoate (MF) suspension-based MDI product performance. The effects of MF particle size (volume median diameter; X50) and excipient concentration (ethanol and oleic acid, cosolvent, and surfactant, respectively) on selected critical quality attributes (delivered dose (D...
