Differentiating the clinical and computed tomography imaging features of mixed epithelial and stromal tumors of the kidney to establish a treatment plan
CONCLUSION: Cystic type MESTK has more hazardous features (such as larger MD, higher R.E.N.A.L.-NS, more RN, greater SFI, multiple septa) compared with solid type, suggesting that RN is more suitable for cystic type and PN for solid type.PMID:34861098 | DOI:10.1002/acm2.13486 (Source: Journal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics)

Mixed epithelial and stromal tumor (MEST) in a young adult male: A case report and literature review
CONCLUSION: Mixed epithelial and stromal tumors (MEST) of the kidney are distinct entities of benign kidney tumors. MEST in young males is a very rare entity, and a small number of cases exist. Histopathology plays a very cardinal role in diagnosis, and overall the disease has a promising outcome with conservative surgery.PMID:34691429 | PMC:PMC8519805 | DOI:10.1016/j.amsu.2021.102888 (Source: Annals of Medicine)

A Bosniak IV Cystic Renal Mass with Mixed Epithelial and Stromal Tumor Features
A 60-year-old male with a past medical history of aortic valve replacement, well-managed hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and bilateral inguinal herniorrhaphy presented to the emergency room with worsening right lower abdominal pain and gross hematuria. He was subsequently admitted due to leukocytosis (24.35 k/uL), pyuria, and elevated serum creatinine (1.37 mg/dL). Contrast-enhanced CT abdomen/pelvis demonstrated an enlarged prostate with peri-prostatic inflammatory fat stranding suspicious for acute prostatitis. (Source: Urology)

Key Renal Neoplasms With a Female Predominance
Renal neoplasms largely favor male patients; however, there is a growing list of tumors that are more frequently diagnosed in females. These tumors include metanephric adenoma, mixed epithelial and stromal tumor, juxtaglomerular cell tumor, mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma, Xp11.2 (TFE3) translocation-associated renal cell carcinoma, and tuberous sclerosis complex (somatic or germline) associated renal neoplasms. The latter category is a heterogenous group with entities still being delineated. Eosinophilic solid and cystic renal cell carcinoma is the best-described entity, whereas, eosinophilic vacuolated tumor ...

Ovarian Mixed Epithelial Carcinoma With Extensive Bilateral Fallopian Tubes Metastases by the Low-grade Serous Carcinoma Component Mimicking Serous Tubal Intraepithelial Carcinoma: Case Presentation and Literature Review
Seromucinous carcinoma of the ovary was a newly defined category in the revised 2014 World Health Organization Classification of Tumors of Female Reproductive Organs. It was defined as a carcinoma composed of predominantly of serous and endocervical-type mucinous epithelium. Foci containing clear cells, and areas of endometrioid and squamous differentiation are not uncommon. It is a rare entity with morphologic and immunophenotypic features overlapping other types of ovarian carcinoma. There are different opinions as to whether it is a distinct entity or a histologic variant of well-established entities. Subsequent, to the...

Renal angiomyoadenomatous tumor (RAT): a rare distinct entity with diagnostic challenges-a case report.
CONCLUSION: Diagnosis of RAT is challenging because of the rarity of the disease and common presenting symptoms to other renal pathology and is supplemented with histopathology and immunohistochemistry. A multidisciplinary team approach for diagnosis and management along with long-term follow-up are warranted. PMID: 33415591 [PubMed - in process] (Source: J Egypt Natl Canc In...)
