Tendency to fall and injuries related to the Covid-19 pandemic at a department of emergency medicine
CONCLUSION: In this monocentric study of Jena University Hospital, it could be demonstrated for the first time that the Covid-19 pandemic had little impact on the number of inpatients admitted to the Department of Emergency Medicine with a documented diagnosis of susceptibility to falls (R29.6) and of susceptibility to falls in combination with at least one documented injury (S00-T14). As observed in previous publications, the number of inpatient admissions with documented injury diagnoses (S00 to T14) decreased.PMID:37596161 | DOI:10.1016/j.zefq.2023.05.021 (Source: Zeitschrift fur Evidenz, Fortbildung und Qualitat im Gesundheitswesen)

A narrative review of recent tools and innovations toward automating living systematic reviews and evidence syntheses
We describe how current end-user tools address these challenges, and which knowledge gaps remain that could be addressed by future tool development. Dedicated web presences for automatic dissemination of in-progress evidence updates, rather than solely relying on peer-reviewed journal publications, help to make the effort of a living evidence synthesis worthwhile. Despite offering basic living review functionalities, existing end-user tools could be further developed to be interoperable with other tools to support multiple workflow steps seamlessly, to address broader automatic evidence retrieval from a larger variety of s...

Retention and turnover intention of foreign-trained physicians (FTPs): A scoping review
CONCLUSIONS: The processes of turnover intention and retention are still poorly understood. Standardizing definitions and certain parts of the methodology would help researchers navigate the process with more accuracy. Further studies should look at the causal relationships that can be collected in the form of qualitative data, as these are currently lacking.PMID:37567814 | DOI:10.1016/j.zefq.2023.05.020 (Source: Zeitschrift fur Evidenz, Fortbildung und Qualitat im Gesundheitswesen)

Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe United Kingdom (UK) as a whole has a long-established decades-old history as an early adopter of the concepts of Advance Care Planning (ACP), with significant integration into mainstream national policy and widespread implementation. The ACP term itself, its processes, means, inclusions and implementations vary considerably within the UK and between its four nations, but the overall impression is of a strongly uniting consensus on the positive impact, value and vital importance of ACP in ena...
