Clinical research in service of clinical medicine: Contexts, practice, methodology and theory of Paul Martin ís "clinical proof" - part 3: Causally relevant elements of Martini's clinical proof and epistemological remarks

Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn the third part of our quadripartite series on Paul Martini and his concept of clinical proof we shortly present the mostly procedural elements of his test of treatment. We discuss their causal conduciveness: what do they contribute to infer causality from effect? Finally we comment on some of Martini's epistemological assumptions and methodological decisions that underpin his method of proof.PMID:37775355 | DOI:10.1016/j.zefq.2023.07.005 (Source: Zeitschrift fur Evidenz, Fortbildung und Qual...

Physician assistants as a future model in primary care: Experiences, needs, potentials and barriers
CONCLUSION: Participation of PAs in the GP team could be key to overcoming the often threatening or already existing under-provision of medical care in structurally weak regions.PMID:37775356 | DOI:10.1016/j.zefq.2023.07.006 (Source: Zeitschrift fur Evidenz, Fortbildung und Qualitat im Gesundheitswesen)

What is a public health intervention? Results of a Delphi process in German-speaking countries
CONCLUSION: Based on the consensus criteria, PHI can be defined more concretely. Thus, the results contribute to a better inter- and transdisciplinary understanding. Ideally, the criteria will make it easier to assign interventions to the public health sector in the future, even if a precise examination will be necessary in individual cases, among other things because the experts disagreed on the criteria of costs and how to address the target group.PMID:37625924 | DOI:10.1016/j.zefq.2023.05.022 (Source: Zeitschrift fur Evidenz, Fortbildung und Qualitat im Gesundheitswesen)
