Influence of the yttrium content on the fracture strength of monolithic zirconia crowns after artificial aging
Conclusions: Increasing the content of yttrium oxide in attempt to improve the optical properties can reduce the mechanical properties after aging of the ceramic as shown in this study. However, even the more translucent 5Y-TZP showed very high fracture resistance, which exceeded 3,000 N. Based on the results of this study, care should be taken when using zirconia with high content of yttrium oxide in areas or situations with high stresses. (Source: Quintessence International)

Biomimetic implant restoration made of human enamel and CAD/CAM block: a short report

The same tooth had been previously relined for immediate loading without occlusal contacts. Comparison of two desensitizing agents for decreasing dentin hypersensitivity following periodontal surgeries: a randomized clinical trial
Conclusions: This clinical trial showed all interventions were more effective than the placebo in decreasing DH. The tested propolis extracts were equally effective irrespective of their concentration. Application of Single Bond Universal had a fast relieving effect on DH. Occupational noise-induced hearing loss among dental professionals
Conclusions: Positive correlation was found between years of experience and reduced hearing capacity among dental practitioners. In addition, males had a significantly higher median count of severely affected hearing frequencies compared to females. Online pure tone audiometric testing is an easy, cost-effective tool that can be used to self-assess the hearing capacity of dental professionals, and it is recommended to perform this test annually.
