The Current Role of Arthroscopy in Traumatic Wrist Injuries: An Expert Survey
Conclusion There is agreement that wrist arthroscopy is superior to MRI for diagnosing traumatic TFCC and SLL injuries, yet experts remain divided on the optimal management. Guidelines need to be developed for the standardization of indications and procedures. Level of Evidence This is a Level III study. A Biomechanical Comparison of Fixation Techniques in Metacarpal Shaft Fractures
Conclusions/Clinical Relevance In this study, the load to failure was not different between the two fixation methods and likely both techniques can sustain physiologic loads needed for rehabilitation. The greater stiffness in the 4th metacarpal compression screw group may be related to the smaller canal morphology than in the 2nd and 3rd metacarpals. Larger diameter screws may be needed to obtain a better fit particularly in the 2nd and 3rd metacarpals. Minimally Invasive Fixation with Dorsal Suspension Button and Volar Plate in Distal Radius Fractures with Dorsal Die Punch Fragments: A Preliminary Study
Conclusion Fixation with the volar locking plate and dorsal suspension button could be considered an alternative to dorsal plate fixation for treatment of distal radius fractures with comminution or associated dorsal die punch fragments. Anatomical and Clinical Concepts in Distal Radius Volar Ulnar Corner fractures
Conclusions Management requires careful planning due to a relatively high rate of complications after fixation. A systematic approach to plate positioning, utilizing several fixation techniques beyond the standard volar rim plate, and utilizing fluoroscopy and/or arthroscopy is the key strategy to assist with management. In this article, we take a different view of the volar ulnar corner anatomy, applied anatomy of the region, associated injuries, and management options. Proximal Row Carpectomy Modifications for Capitate Arthritis: A Systematic Review
Conclusion Techniques to address capitate arthritis center around resurfacing or soft tissue interposition. PRC modifications with CI produces better range-of-motion and grip strength but higher conversion to total wrist arthrodesis. Higher conversion rates may be attributable to longer follow-up periods in studies examining CI compared with CR. Level of Evidence This is a Level III study. Treatment of Primary Dorsal Wrist Ganglion —A Systematic Review
Conclusion The evidence summarized in this systematic review demonstrates a considerable variability in recurrence rate following aspiration and open or arthroscopic resection of a primary dorsal wrist ganglion. The greatest variability in recurrence was displayed among studies on aspiration. The overall infection rate after treatment of dorsal wrist ganglions seems to be low regardless of the treatment type. However, the divergent results of individual studies highlight a pressing need for prospective controlled trials assessing outcomes following dorsal wrist ganglion treatment. Level of evidence Systematic revi...

Is Wrist Arthroscopy Safer with the Nanoscope?
J Wrist Surg DOI: 10.1055/s-0042-1750179 Background Nanoscope, given its smaller size, may be safer when establishing dorsal wrist arthroscopy portals compared with the traditional 2.7 mm arthroscope. Case Description Ten fresh frozen cadaver specimens were utilized. Dorsal radiocarpal portals were established with the Nanoscope and calipers were used to measure the distance between the portals and the surrounding anatomical structures. The only structure that was pierced during portal placement was the dorsal sensory branch of the ulnar nerve (DSUN) in one specimen when establishing the 6U portal. Our stud...
