Prediction of hypercholesterolemia using machine learning techniques
ConclusionThe study shows that socioeconomic inequalities, unhealthy lifestyle, and metabolic syndrome (including obesity and hypertension) are significant predictors of hypercholesterolemia. Therefore controlling these factors is necessary to reduce the burden of hypercholesterolemia. Furthermore, machine learning algorithms such as random forest and gradient boosting can be employed for hypercholesterolemia screening and its timely diagnosis. Applying deep learning algorithms as well as techniques for handling the class overlap problem seems necessary to improve the performance of the models. (Source: Journal of Diabetes...

HOMA-IR mean values in healthy individuals: a population-based study in iranian subjects
ConclusionsOur findings showed the mean value of 2.11  ± 0.99 HOMA-IR in the Iranian healthy population. Considering the large sample size in our study, more clinical investigations in terms of ethnicity should be done to provide a precise standardized HOMA-IR index in the Iranian population. Main drivers of diabetes pharmaceuticals expenditures: evidence from OECD countries and Iran
ConclusionPharmaceutical per capita expenditure is affected by several factors. These factors are not the same in various counties. Passing a judgment on drug utilization only based on pharmaceutical per capita expenditure cannot be perfect. Also, judging whether the per capita drug expenditure in one country is desirable without attention to the affecting factors and only relying on the value of utilized medicines is defective.
