Impact of anaemia and iron deficiency on outcomes in cardiogenic shock complicating acute myocardial infarction
ConclusionConcomitant anaemia without ID presence in patients with CS at hospital presentation is associated with higher risk for death from any cause or renal replacement therapy and the individual components of this composite endpoint within 30  days after hospitalization. ID has no relevant impact on clinical outcomes in patients with CS. (Source: European Journal of Heart Failure)

Impact of Clinical Phenogroup Diversity and Multiplicity: Impact on Mechanisms of Exercise Intolerance in Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction
ConclusionsThough cardiac output response to exercise is limited in patients with HFpEF compared to those with non-cardiac dyspnea, the relative contributions of cardiac and peripheral limitations vary with differing numbers and types of clinical phenotypic traits present. Patients fulfilling criteria for greater multiplicity and diversity of HFpEF phenogroup traits have poorer exercise capacity, worsening hemodynamic perturbations, and greater risk for adverse outcome. This article is protected by copyright. Exercise catheterization in adults post ‐Fontan with normal and abnormal hemodynamic criteria: insights into normal Fontan physiology
ConclusionPAWP>20  mmHg and mean PA pressure >  25 mmHg could be used to define elevated values during exercise in adults post-Fontan. The major discrepancy in exercise hemodynamics among Group II compared to controls appears to be the degree of systemic venous hypertension and arterial desaturation. This article is protected by copyright. Effects of empagliflozin on collagen biomarkers in patients with heart failure: Findings from the EMPEROR trials
ConclusionOur observations are consistent with experimental observations that empagliflozin down-regulates profibrotic signalling. The importance of such an effect for the clinical benefits of SGLT2i in HF remains to be elucidated. (Source: European Journal of Heart Failure)

Artificial Intelligence methods for Improved Detection of undiagnosed Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF)
ConclusionsThis study demonstrates that patients with undiagnosed HFpEF are an at-risk group with high mortality. It is possible to use NLP methods to identify likely HFpEF patients from EHR data who would likely then benefit from expert clinical review and complement the use of diagnostic algorithms. This article is protected by copyright. Cardiorespiratory Fitness and Risk of Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction
Conclusions and RelevanceHigher CRF levels are independently associated with lower HRpEF in a dose-response manner. Changes in CRF reflected proportional changes in HFpEF risk, suggesting that the HFpEF risk was modulated by CRF.This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. Real ‐world candidacy to mavacamten in a contemporary hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy population
ConclusionsRW HOCM patients differ from the EXPLORER-HCM population for their older age, lower LVEF and larger atrial volume, potentially reflecting a more advanced stage of the disease. About half of RW HOCM patients were found eligible to mavacamten. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved. (Source: European Journal of Heart Failure)

Natriuretic Peptides, Body Mass Index and Heart Failure Risk: Pooled Analyses of SAVOR ‐TIMI 53, DECLARE‐TIMI 58 and CAMELLIA‐TIMI 61
ConclusionsThe risk of HHF varies across BMI categories for any given range of circulating NT-proBNP. These findings showcase the importance of considering BMI when applying NT-proBNP for HF risk stratification, particularly for patients with low-level elevations in NT-proBNP (125-<450 pg/mL) where there appears to be a clinically meaningful absolute and relative risk gradient. This article is protected by copyright. The role of multimorbidity in patients with heart failure across the left ventricular ejection fraction spectrum: data from the Swedish Heart Failure Registry
ConclusionThe burden of both CV and non-CV comorbidities was high in HF regardless of EF, but overall higher in HFpEF. Multimorbidity was associated with a high risk of death with a different burden on CV or non-CV outcomes. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
