Bilateral Proptosis as an Unusual Presentation of Adult-Onset Alveolar-Type Rhabdomyosarcoma of Ethmoid Sinus: A Case Report
Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) exhibits varying degrees of clinical manifestations, and one of the determining factors is its primary site of origin. Ocular proptosis is an infrequent presentation of parameningeal RMS. The growing tumor in spacious environments such as air-filled sinuses can obscure its early detection, leading to late disease intervention. Among the four subtypes (embryonal, leiomyomatous, sclerosing and spindle cell, and alveolar), the predominant type of RMS in the paranasal sinuses is alveolar. The incidence in adult-onset RMS is relatively low compared with those of children. We herein present a rare case of ...

BRAF and MEK Inhibitor Treatment for Metastatic Undifferentiated Sarcoma of the Spermatic Cord with BRAF V600E Mutation
This report shows that theBRAF V600E mutation may be a promising therapeutic target and that resistance to the targeted therapy could also occur in soft tissue sarcoma. The significance ofBRAF mutations across different types of cancer should be validated, and it is necessary to apply targeted therapies and develop methods to overcome resistance based on the optimal use of comprehensive genomic profiling tests.Case Rep Oncol 2022;15:762 –769 (Source: Case Reports in Oncology)

Myeloid Sarcoma Mimicking Dental Abscess in a Patient with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia: Diagnostic and Therapeutic Dilemma
We report a young man with CML in the chronic phase who developed myeloid sarcoma. There were many difficulties in the diagnosis of myeloid sarcoma due to the simulation of other more common conditions like infections and other malignancies. In addition, there are treatment challenges because of lack of standardized treatment. The case shed light on this rare complication, the challenging diagnosis, and its implication in patients with CML.Case Rep Oncol 2022;15:755 –761 (Source: Case Reports in Oncology)

Splenic Rupture Secondary to Metastatic Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma of the Spleen: A Rare Presentation of an Exceptionally Rare Entity
Splenic malignancies are uncommonly encountered in routine practice, and they are often only detected incidentally, posing a clinical challenge. Primary malignant neoplasms of the spleen are rare, and sarcomas are by far the rarest. The undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma type is an exceptionally rare and aggressive type with only a handful of cases reported in literature thus far. Herein, we present the case of a 49-year-old, with a previous finding of a heterogeneous splenomegaly on imaging for an unrelated medical complaint, presenting with an acute abdomen secondary to a ruptured spleen. The diagnosis of high-grade pr...

A Case of Brachial Lymph Node Recurrences after the Resection of Locally Advanced Breast Cancer
We present a case of two recurrences in the brachial lymph nodes after initial resection, which was performed for radical cure. A 66-year-old woman was diagnosed with left breast cancer T4bN3cM0 Stage IIIC and an immunohistochemistry assay showed estrogen receptor (ER) positivity (5%), progesterone-receptor (PgR) positivity (1%), human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) positivity (3+), and low Ki-67 (15%). After four courses of adriamycin and cyclophosphamide, followed by four courses of trastuzumab plus docetaxel, the patient underwent left mastectomy and axillary dissection. Postoperatively, she was diagnosed wit...

Successful Treatment of Primary Cutaneous Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma with Denileukin Diftitox
In this report, a case of PCALCL successfully treated with denileukin diftitox as second-line therapy is described. Interestingly, the administration of denileukin diftitox decreased CD8+ T cells, CD25+ cells, granulysin-bearing lymphocytes, and CD163+ macrophages. The present case suggests that denileukin diftitox might induce an anti-lymphoma effect as well as modulate the tumor microenvironment.Case Rep Oncol 2022;15:726 –731 (Source: Case Reports in Oncology)

Pulmonary Lymphangitis Carcinomatosa Mimicking Immunotherapy-Related Interstitial Pneumonitis: A Case Report
While immunotherapy with immune checkpoint inhibitors has achieved promising effects in advanced lung cancer treatment, it can induce some unique adverse events, known as immunotherapy-related adverse events (irAEs). Immunotherapy-related interstitial pneumonitis is one of the irAEs, and its incidence is reported as 3.5 –8.3% in phase III trials of nivolumab with or without ipilimumab for advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients. However, in the real-world setting, pathology is not routinely used in the diagnostic process of interstitial pneumonitis because diagnosis is usually made using chest computed tomog raphy (...

Bilateral Panuveitis and Exudative Retinal Detachments Associated with Alpelisib
We report a case of alpelisib-induced uveitis. A 68-year-old female who had recently been given alpelisib for metastatic breast cancer presented with a 2-week history of bilateral worsening vision with a corresponding acute hypermetropic shift. Her unaided visual acuity was 6/60 in both eyes, with bilateral anterior uveitis, non-granulomatous keratic precipitates, posterior synechiae, and limited fundal view. There was also a mild iris bombe configuration, although the intraocular pressures were normal. Ocular ultrasound revealed bilateral uveal effusion, ciliary body congestion, dense vitreous cells, and exudative retinal...

A Retroperitoneal Mass Encasing the Renal Hilum Presenting as a Parapelvic Tumor: A Case Report with Laparoscopic Resection Approach
We present a case with the hilar lesion of the left kidney that was managed with laparoscopic resection. The laparoscopy revealed that the mass completely enclosed the left renal hilum, but the mass was excised without any complication. The final pathologic report revealed a benign mesenteric cyst. Although most of the retroperitoneal mass had a malignant etiology, in cystic lesions in the renal hilar area, the benign mesenteric cyst may keep in mind the differential diagnosis of a mass in this anatomic region.Case Rep Oncol 2022;15:695 –699 (Source: Case Reports in Oncology)
