Pelvic floor muscle strength and influencing factors based on vaginal manometry among healthy women at different life stages: A multicentre cross-sectional study
CONCLUSIONS: Physical work, vaginal delivery, diabetes and a family history of POP are all risk factors for low PFM strength, whereas PFM exercises and sexual life can have a protective effect. The importance of these factors varies at different stages of a woman's life.PMID:38168494 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17736 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Impact of maternal bariatric surgery on offspring perinatal cardiac function: A prospective study
CONCLUSIONS: Maternal bariatric surgery does not appear to inadvertently affect the offspring cardiac performance. We found an inverse correlation between maternal HbA1c levels and fetal LV systolic function but this was mainly seen in the no-bariatric pregnancies.PMID:38155109 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17747 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Nd:YAG/Er:YAG dual laser compared with topical steroid to treat vulvar lichen sclerosus: A randomised controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: Non-ablative dual Nd:YAG/Er:YAG laser therapy was safe and significantly improved clinical outcome and subjective symptoms at the 6-month follow up. This suggests that laser may be a promising alternative to corticosteroid therapy. However, the authors caution regular follow ups because of the premalignant nature of the disease.PMID:38149520 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17737 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Body mass index and weight gain in pregnancy and cardiovascular health in middle age: A cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: A high BMI in early pregnancy and excessive GWG were associated with greater odds of poor cardiovascular health in middle age. Although further studies are needed, our results highlight pregnancy as an important period to support long-term cardiovascular health.PMID:38149523 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17740 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)
