Adverse delivery hospitalisation outcomes in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic
CONCLUSIONS: In a national estimate of delivery hospitalisations, the odds of cardiac and respiratory outcomes were higher in 2020 compared with 2016-2019. COVID-19 diagnoses were specifically associated with a range of serious complications.PMID:38375533 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17783 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Pelvic floor dysfunction after intervention, compared with expectant management, in prolonged second stage of labour: A population-based questionnaire and cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Pelvic floor dysfunction was common in primiparous women after a prolonged second stage, and the risk of PFD increased after VE but was unaffected by CS, compared with expectant management. If a spontaneous vaginal delivery eventually occurred, allowing an extended duration of labour did not increase the risk of PFD.PMID:38375535 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17792 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Fetal growth after fresh and frozen embryo transfer and natural conception: A population-based register study
CONCLUSIONS: This study gives new insights into the differences in fetal growth dynamics between fresh and frozen ET and NC pregnancies. Clinically relevant differences in proportions of SGA, LGA and macrosomia were observed.PMID:38351638 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17786 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Evaluating Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae screening and treatment among asymptomatic pregnant women to prevent preterm birth and low birthweight in Gaborone, Botswana: A secondary analysis from a non-randomised, cluster-controlled trial
CONCLUSION: A C. trachomatis and N. gonorrhoeae infection screening and treatment intervention among asymptomatic pregnant women may have reduced preterm birth or low birthweight outcomes, but results were not statistically significant. Post-hoc analysis found that the intervention reduced adverse outcomes among nulliparous participants.PMID:38351649 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17775 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)
