Impact of maternal bariatric surgery on offspring perinatal cardiac function: A prospective study
CONCLUSIONS: Maternal bariatric surgery does not appear to inadvertently affect the offspring cardiac performance. We found an inverse correlation between maternal HbA1c levels and fetal LV systolic function but this was mainly seen in the no-bariatric pregnancies.PMID:38155109 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17747 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Nd:YAG/Er:YAG dual laser compared with topical steroid to treat vulvar lichen sclerosus: A randomised controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: Non-ablative dual Nd:YAG/Er:YAG laser therapy was safe and significantly improved clinical outcome and subjective symptoms at the 6-month follow up. This suggests that laser may be a promising alternative to corticosteroid therapy. However, the authors caution regular follow ups because of the premalignant nature of the disease.PMID:38149520 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17737 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Body mass index and weight gain in pregnancy and cardiovascular health in middle age: A cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: A high BMI in early pregnancy and excessive GWG were associated with greater odds of poor cardiovascular health in middle age. Although further studies are needed, our results highlight pregnancy as an important period to support long-term cardiovascular health.PMID:38149523 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17740 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Rates of subjective and objective cure, satisfaction, and pain 10-20  years after tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) surgery: A retrospective cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) provided high rates of subjective and objective cure at 10 and 20 years after surgery, with no significant difference between the two cohorts. Although 3%-5% of women experienced persisting pain, most women were satisfied with TVT surgery. Obesity was associated with a lower cure rate.PMID:38126201 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17738 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)

Polycystic ovary syndrome and risk of pre-eclampsia: A national register-based cohort study
CONCLUSIONS: Women with PCOS face an increased risk for pre-eclampsia, especially early pre-eclampsia and pre-eclampsia with an SGA infant. We were unable to determine on the basis of available data, whether hyperandrogenism is associated with pre-eclampsia.PMID:38082470 | DOI:10.1111/1471-0528.17734 (Source: BJOG : An International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology)
