Pain in the Context of Virtual Neuropsychological Assessment of Older Adults
CONCLUSIONS: Though results were largely not significant, correlations warrant further exploration of the influence of pain on neuropsychological test performance in this context to ensure that pain does not influence test performance in individuals with higher levels of pain and in other samples.PMID:37644879 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad064 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

The Association of Personal Neglect with Motor, Activities of Daily Living, and Participation Outcomes after Stroke: A Systematic Review
Arch Clin Neuropsychol. 2023 Aug 17:acad063. doi: 10.1093/arclin/acad063. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDespite its potential clinical impact, the association of personal neglect (PN) with motor, activities of daily living (ADL), and participation outcomes after stroke is not well-understood. This first-ever systematic review on the topic therefore evaluates this association, taking into account suggested subtypes of PN, including body representation neglect, somatosensory neglect, motor neglect, and premotor neglect. A systematic literature search was conducted on February 17, 2023 in PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, PubPs...

Associations Between Executive Functioning, Behavioral Functioning, and Adaptive Functioning Difficulties in Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome
CONCLUSIONS: Those with WSS are at risk for EF deficits, hyperactivity, and emotional dysregulation. EF correlates with adaptive and affective behaviors, highlighting the promise of behavioral interventions to target cognitive flexibility, emotional awareness, and reactivity in this population.PMID:37565480 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad060 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

Clock Drawing Test Performance of Young Adults Based on a One-Shot Case Study
CONCLUSIONS: Based on these findings, the CDT should be used with caution to screen cognitive functioning in young adults (i.e., aged 18-30 years). Consideration of an alternative approach to screening cognition and modifying cognitive assessments in which the CDT is embedded is recommended for this population. These findings warrant further investigation into CDT performance in the young adult population.PMID:37565493 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad061 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)
