Theory of Mind in Typical Adults: Sex-Differences and Its Associations with Anxiety and Depression Symptoms
CONCLUSIONS: Present research adds to the existing knowledge on the association between ToM ability, anxiety, and depressive symptoms in typical adults as well as on the sex-differences in this important social cognitive domain. Exploring the factors representing indicators of vulnerability for depression-anxiety spectrum disorders is important for their timely detection and treatment.PMID:36715310 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad007 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

The Effect of Spatial Uncertainty on Visual Search in Older School-Aged Children with and without ADHD
CONCLUSIONS: The findings of this study support that older school-aged children with ADHD demonstrate less efficient search performance than their TD peers in complex/difficult visual search tasks, especially under higher spatial uncertainty.PMID:36715611 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad003 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

The Accuracy of Speech and Linguistic Analysis in Early Diagnostics of Neurocognitive Disorders in a Memory Clinic Setting
CONCLUSION: The one-minute SVF task with automatically derived speech and linguistic features was as reliable as the manual scoring and differentiated well between SCD and MCI/dementia. This can be considered as a valuable addition in the screening of neurocognitive disorders and in clinical practice.PMID:36705583 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acac105 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

An Examination of Racial/Ethnic Differences on the Neurobehavioral Symptom Inventory Among Veterans Completing the Comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury Evaluation: A Veterans Affairs Million Veteran Program Study
CONCLUSIONS: Results showed significant racial/ethnic group differences on neurobehavioral symptom domains and symptom validity testing among veterans who completed the CTBIE. An enhanced understanding of how symptoms vary by race/ethnicity is vital so that clinical care can be appropriately tailored to the unique needs of all veterans. Results highlight the importance of establishing measurement invariance of the NSI across race/ethnicity and underscore the need for ongoing research to determine the most appropriate Validity-10 cutoff score(s) to use across racially/ethnically diverse veterans.PMID:36702773 | DOI:10.1093/...

Clinical Utility of WAIS-IV Matrix Reasoning Among Adult Low Educated Recent Immigrants; A Note of Caution
CONCLUSIONS: The findings indicate that WAIS-IV Matrix Reasoning underestimates cognitive functioning in limited educated recently arrived immigrants, thus calling its clinical utility into question.PMID:36702784 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad006 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

Multivariate Base Rates of Low Score on Neuropsychological Tests of Individuals with Coca Paste Use Disorder
CONCLUSIONS: The individuals with CPUD had a higher percentage of low scores than the HCs in the domains of learning and memory, language, and executive function. It is important for clinicians to be aware of low scores in individuals with CPUD to avoid false-positive diagnoses of cognitive impairment.PMID:36683295 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad002 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

Characterizing the Network Structure of Post-Concussion Symptoms
CONCLUSIONS: The interconnectedness among symptoms supports the notion that post-concussion symptoms are interrelated and mutually reinforcing. Given their central role in the network, "difficulty concentrating" and "dizziness" are expected to affect the activation and persistence of other post-concussion symptoms. Interventions targeting difficulties with concentration and dizziness may help alleviate other symptoms. Our findings could inform the development of targeted treatment with the aim of reducing overall symptom burden. Future research should examine the trajectory of post-concussion symptom networks to advance th...
