Smaller Hippocampal Volume Is Associated With Reduced Posttraumatic Stress Symptoms in Children With Cancer and Survivors Following a Brief Novel Martial Arts-Based Intervention
CONCLUSIONS: Together, hippocampal volume may be a biomarker of PTSS severity and intervention response. Identifying hippocampal volume as a potential biomarker for PTSS severity and intervention response may allow for more informed psychosocial treatments.PMID:37518896 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad056 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

Do executive functions differentiate Iranian children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder with and without comorbid obesity?
CONCLUSIONS: Children with ADHD-O have poorer executive functioning than those without obesity. We observed stronger effects for "cool" rather than "hot" domains of executive function, though this could be due to the former being performance-based and the latter parent-reported.PMID:37494423 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad053 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

A Clinic-Based Measure of Everyday Planning Ability: The Overnight Trip Task
CONCLUSIONS: The clinic OTT showed only modest association with the RW-OTT and discriminate but not convergent validity was demonstrated. The clinic OTT showed incremental validity when predicting self-reported everyday functioning and RW-OTT performance above more traditional measures. Before the clinic OTT could be considered a reliable and valid clinic-based measure for predicting real-world behavior, additional research would be needed.PMID:37489707 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad052 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

Is Neurodevelopmental Assessment in Early Childhood Predictive of Performance Assessed Later in Childhood and Adolescence in Sub-Saharan Africa? A Systematic Review of the Literature
CONCLUSION: Cognitive ability assessed in early childhood is strongly associated with performance at school age in cohorts of African children followed longitudinally. Even with assessments adapted cross-culturally, infants and preschoolers at risk for poor developmental outcomes can be identified to better receive strategic early interventions to enhance their development.PMID:37470401 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad051 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)
