Compensatory Strategy Intervention: What Older Patients Want and Why
CONCLUSIONS: Older adults with cognitive impairment are generally motivated to enhance their compensatory strategy use. Clinicians/researchers designing compensatory strategy interventions should consider instructor-led formats, present individualized benefits of interventions, and demonstrate the benefits of both preventative and remedial intervention to optimize patient engagement.PMID:38520386 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acae023 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

Utility of a Short-Form Phonemic Fluency Task
CONCLUSIONS: these findings support the utility and reliability of a short-form phonemic fluency paradigm, as 30s performance reliably predicted 60s/trial totals and was equally accurate in distinguishing impaired/non-impaired groups.PMID:38516816 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acae022 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

Interactive Relations of Body Mass Index, Cardiorespiratory Fitness, and Sex to Cognitive Function in Older Adults
CONCLUSIONS: Among men, higher cardiorespiratory fitness may protect against the negative impact of greater BMI on manual dexterity and motor speed, making VO2max a target for intervention. Higher BMI is further associated with poorer executive function and verbal memory (in men), and lower VO2max is associated with poorer verbal memory.PMID:38486431 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acae018 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)
