Normative Data for the 12-Item Sniffin' Sticks Odor Identification Test in Older Adults
CONCLUSIONS: Our study provides SSOIT-12 normative data obtained from a large population of White and Black older adults without preclinical or clinical dementia or sinonasal disease living in the USA. These findings can aid clinicians in assessing the degree of olfactory loss, establishing concordance with a person's perception of olfactory difficulties and quantitatively monitoring changes in olfactory performance over time.PMID:37883325 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad080 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

Integrating Lifestyle Factor Science into Neuropsychological Practice: A National Academy of Neuropsychology Education Paper
CONCLUSIONS: Clinical neuropsychologists can have confidence in recommending engagement in physical activity, social activity, and cognitively stimulating activity, and adhering to a Mediterranean-style diet to promote brain and cognitive health. We discuss limitations in existing lifestyle factor research and future directions to enhance the existing evidence base, including additional research with historically underrepresented groups and individuals with neurological conditions.PMID:37873931 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad078 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

Sports Neuropsychologists' Ratings of Clinical Criteria Used to Help Determine Concussion Recovery: A Brief Survey Report
CONCLUSIONS: There was some similarity in how sports neuropsychologists determine concussion recovery for both adults and youth. Future studies should include a larger sample size and concussion experts from other specialties to identify the current multidisciplinary standard of care.PMID:37873932 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad082 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

Discrepancies in Patient and Caregiver Ratings of Personality Change in Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias
CONCLUSIONS: Informant ratings of personality traits in ADRD can be confounded by the caregiver burden, highlighting the need for more objective measures of personality and behavior in dementia samples. Discrepancies between informant and patient ratings of personality may additionally reflect loss of insight secondary to cortical atrophy in the frontal and temporal structures.PMID:37867324 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad079 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)

Baseline ImPACT Composite Scores in Student-Athletes With Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
CONCLUSIONS: The ADHD subjects reported worse symptoms at baseline and had worse Impulse Control in univariate analysis, but not multivariate analysis. These results can further guide clinicians in concussion diagnosis and test interpretations for student-athletes with ADHD, considering the symptom burden at baseline.PMID:37824213 | DOI:10.1093/arclin/acad076 (Source: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology)
