Dyadic loneliness, age, and cognitive functioning among midlife and older Black couples
Conclusion: Findings indicate that loneliness has dyadic consequences for cognitive functioning among older Black couples, but that context is crucial for determining who is at greatest risk of harmful repercussions from a partner's loneliness.PMID:38047614 | DOI:10.1080/13607863.2023.2288862 (Source: Aging and Mental Health)

Burden and positive aspects of caregiving: cluster profiles of dementia caregiving experiences
CONCLUSION: Findings suggest that burden and positive aspects of caregiving do not simultaneously present in caregivers at high levels. Supportive caregiver interventions might be tailored to profiles demonstrated here. Future research should investigate other potential contributors to experiences of burden and positive aspects of caregiving.PMID:38038391 | DOI:10.1080/13607863.2023.2288870 (Source: Aging and Mental Health)

'It's a lonely journey': caregiving experiences and psychosocial distress among Chinese American dementia family caregivers
CONCLUSION: Our data suggest that Chinese American dementia caregivers, especially those with limited English proficiency, experience elevated psychosocial distress, which was aggravated by the barriers to social support and health services due to their immigrant and minority status. Culturally appropriate targeted intervention is urgently needed for this underserved and vulnerable population.PMID:38038630 | DOI:10.1080/13607863.2023.2285918 (Source: Aging and Mental Health)

Relationship between health-related quality of life, depression, and anxiety in older primary care patients and their family members
CONCLUSION: Results from this study reveal that many dyads experience covarying health status (e.g. depression, anxiety) even prior to entering a caregiving situation.PMID:38019031 | DOI:10.1080/13607863.2023.2285499 (Source: Aging and Mental Health)
