Effectiveness of Tai Chi on cognitive function among older adults with mild cognitive impairment: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
CONCLUSIONS: This review reveals that Tai Chi can improve executive function, episodic memory, visuospatial function, and global cognition in older adults with mild cognitive impairment, but not working memory, concentration, or memory complaints. These findings are consist with existing reviews about the effectiveness of Tai Chi. Long-duration (> 1500 min) Tai Chi is more effective for improving global cognition. However, the findings should be interpreted with caution due to the potential risk of bias and limited sample sizes of the included studies. Future trials should examine the effectiveness of standardized Tai C...

Patterns and predictors of mental health service use among older veterans with alcohol use disorder who received a video-enabled tablet
Conclusion: Video-enabled tablets may help older adults with AUD overcome access barriers to mental health services, although targeted support for certain groups may be necessary.PMID:37723897 | DOI:10.1080/13607863.2023.2253448 (Source: Aging and Mental Health)

Former dementia caregivers' high and low point narratives: what is remembered, and how is it shared?
CONCLUSION: Themes across high and low point narratives encompassed relational issues, how caregiving shaped the caregiver's self-efficacy, and factors that made navigating caregiving easier or more difficult. Both high point and low point narration often involved describing positive aspects of caregiving (PAC). Narrative elaborations may be used by former caregivers to engage in deeper evaluation of their caregiving experiences. We consider how psychotherapeutic techniques can help former caregivers reframe maladaptive narratives, supporting their mental health.PMID:37712688 | DOI:10.1080/13607863.2023.2256252 (Source: Ag...
