Transplant Nephrology
Hi guys, second year resident who is interested in transplant nephrology. Love in the interdisciplinary interaction with other medical teams especially surgery as well as all the medicine that is involved (nephrology, immunology, BP management, infectious disease). Was wondering if anyone has an idea what the job market is like for transplant nephrology, the average salary, inpatient vs. outpatient split, and lifestyle in general. Thank you! Penn vs Tufts
Hi!
I was accepted to both Penn and Tufts, both OOS.
I’m really interested in infectious disease research, translational medicine and OneHealth. Penn seems to have a LOT of research opportunities and their new curriculum is enticing with the 2+2 set up. Prophylactic antibiotic in genicular nerve block / RFA?
I have a patient with a remote (>20year) hx of MRSA infection of the left knee after a meniscectomy. She has not had an issue since then. Not able to have L TKA due to this previous infection. What is the recommendation or what have you seen regarding prophylactic antibiotics and genicular nerve block/RFA? Would you give this patient prophylactic abx? Thanks in advance. Hi all,
I'd love to hear from anyone who is planning to take the Infectious Diseases exam this spring, or who sat the exam in recent times. I was hoping to take it last fall, but didn't because many people I know said it takesvat least a solid 6 months of studying to prepare, and I didn't have that time. However, I haven't started studying for the spring exam either! It seems like life us always happening, so I'm thinking it's best to just start studying now and go for it.

Biotech to med school? Questions about relevance of work and timelines
Hi all,
I finished undergrad as an Ecology major in 2017 with a 3.67 GPA. Since then, I’ve been working in biotech and have made my way up from tech to a scientist position (with one year off, 6 months as a caregiver for my mom who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and 6 months with americorps doing childrens literacy work).
