Why no one has any trust in medicine and science in regards to COVID-19 now...
I expect the fall out from absolutely ABYSMAL decision making to last for years on medicine and health care in general in this country. You thought the anti-vaxxers were bad? People are gonna avoid all healthcare, well aside from all the COVID-19 cases which will flood in and collapse the dying husks of the remaining hospitals. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Northstar and NAPA in SE Michigan
Today in the Metro Detroit area it was announced that Beaumont Health - one of the largest health care system in the Detroit area was turning toward Northstar for it's anesthesia services. Attached is the letter from Beaumont's CEO. NAPA recently acquired Mednax's American Anesthesia division which has the physician contract at Beaumont's other main hospitals in the area. I imagine that Beaumont will ask NAPA to take on the CRNAs or risk losing it all to NorthStar. I do not work for this... Northstar and NAPA in SE Michigan (Source: Student Doctor Network)

NYT: Hospitals Get Bailed Out While Independent MD's Struggle
Doctors Without Patients: ‘Our Waiting Rooms Are Like Ghost Towns.’ As visits plummet because of the coronavirus, small physician practices are struggling to survive. www.nytimes.com “Here’s the scary thing — as these practices start to break down and go bankrupt, we could have more consolidation among the health care systems,” Dr. Crow said. That concerns health economists, who say the steady rise in costs is linked to the clout these big hospital networks wield with private insurers to charge high prices. HS Senior looking at Pre-Med
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone could help me out. I recently was accepted to both Princeton and UPenn, and at Penn, I was admitted to the Life Sciences-Management dual degree program. I'm passionate about working in health care; I have a pretty bad medical history, so that's always been an ambition.
