Dual Applying specialities and different hospitals in the same medical system
What is the consensus on dual applying to different hospitals in the same medical system (for example applying two different hospitals in Kaiser or HCA Health care systems)? I know applying in the same hospital is a bad bad idea. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Health Insurance Premiums
This is why ER docs will always have plenty of work in-perpetuity until the health care system undergoes drastic changes: I just got notice from Kaiser today that they are going to raise my premiums for 2021. For a family of four and a middle of the road health care package (one of their Silver packages), I'm going to be paying $1796/month premium with $8,200/$16,400 individual / family annual out of pocket maximum. 6 years ago, when I joined Kaiser, I was paying $1035/month for the same... Healthcare internships as pass/fail
My university offers healthcare internships with hospitals and other healthcare facilities for a semester, we do get 3 academic credit hours for it, but there is no grading. It is listed as pass/ fail in the transcript and not counted in your GPA calculation. Will that be a problem in the final application and does the pass/fail grading have to be explained in a separate section ? Will it look terrible if we do more than 1 of these ? Can these be listed as extra curricular health care... Healthcare internships as pass/fail (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Why no one has any trust in medicine and science in regards to COVID-19 now...
I expect the fall out from absolutely ABYSMAL decision making to last for years on medicine and health care in general in this country. You thought the anti-vaxxers were bad? People are gonna avoid all healthcare, well aside from all the COVID-19 cases which will flood in and collapse the dying husks of the remaining hospitals. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Northstar and NAPA in SE Michigan
Today in the Metro Detroit area it was announced that Beaumont Health - one of the largest health care system in the Detroit area was turning toward Northstar for it's anesthesia services. Attached is the letter from Beaumont's CEO. NAPA recently acquired Mednax's American Anesthesia division which has the physician contract at Beaumont's other main hospitals in the area. I imagine that Beaumont will ask NAPA to take on the CRNAs or risk losing it all to NorthStar. I do not work for this... Northstar and NAPA in SE Michigan (Source: Student Doctor Network)
