But in North Carolina, a group of medical providers has successfully organized an interprofessional union. jacobin.com Just thought I would share. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Concerns about Medical School
The University of Minnesota Medical School had the students pledge an oath. Students began the oath by stating, "Our institution is located on Dakota land…We commit to uprooting the legacy and perpetuation of structural violence deeply embedded within the health care system." "We recognize the inequities built by past and present traumas rooted in white supremacy, colonialism, the gender binary, ableism, and all other forms of oppression." I was unaware schools made people pledge oaths. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Pending disaster in American health care system; shortage of supplies
It has shocked me how there has been no media coverage of the lack of the most basic medications and supplies in the past 6 months. Things are actually getting worse, not better, over time. Many of us cannot get the most basic medications needed for a pain practice. Where is the news on this? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

'How Complex Systems Fail' and mental healthcare system design
I recently ran across this short summary of considerations for 'complex systems' in healthcare and was struck by how relevant some of the points were in relation to attempts to design complex systems to, say, 'prevent suicide,' especially considering the role of health care provider. I think it's worthy of discussion and am interested in others' opinions on it, especially if you've been in the role of trying to apply increasingly complex protocols, procedures, and rules relating to suicide... Roe v. Wade: implications for psychiatrists?
Recognizing that this topic is a lightning rod, I am interested in hearing people's thoughts on the implications today's ruling has for us as psychiatrists. Particularly from folks who were practicing prior to the original decision, currently practicing in places with extremely limited access to reproductive health care, and people working in CL settings. Not interested in a debate about rights and wrongs of the law, but rather how this change may impact our clinical practice. (Source: Student Doctor Network)
