So a few months back i posted about my daughter and these sweat test. Finally got in to see the CF doctor personally. He looked at my daughters results ans told me flat out he was very baffled on every thing. He said that he has never seen someone have 2 sweat test done at different times and come back with exactly same results both times. He checked her out. Told me by looking at her that he doesn't think she has CF. But because of her sweat test and symptoms he did a lot of testing. First test he did was he swabbed her throat. He said that the culture did grow staph but that was normal in a non cf patient. Second t...

Sinus Surgery in 4 Year Old- Looking for Information
Hi everyone! My son is 4 years old (DDF508) and it looks like sinus surgery might be happenning in the next few months. From Sept-December he was on sick plan almost non stop (3 weeks to get rid of the illness, 1 week off, repeat)-- no huge illnesses but a very insistent cough that kept coming back. He also had sinusitis that whole time as well. He's been healthy since the end of December after a round of bactrim, luckily, but they had him do a CT scan to get a better idea of why he had a hard time staying healthy. Not surprisingly the CT scan showed his sinuses completely blocked up with mucus. They said he's too you...

Hello my fellow cfers. Im just going to jump right in, I'm 25 and I just finished my evaluation for transplant and found out I will be getting listed for both lung and liver. However, when I got a ct scan of my abdomen they saw some of the nodules on my liver do something called "washing out" which they said could be a sign of cancer. So about a week ago I had an MRI of my liver done and it is a small cancer. They said this wouldn't stop me from being listed but they want me to have a procedure to, the doctor I talked to, said "burn away the tumor". Im not really scared about the cancer part because I ...

Allergies with low IGE
My scratch are positive for a large number of allergies, but my bloodwork shows my IGE level is very low. My daughter has the same allergy and blood test results. My sinus CT scan shows lots of mucus from allergies too. So does anyone else have this? I have been reading about non-iGE mediated allergies and that they are treated with mast cell stabilizers such as Zyrtec and Chromolyn Sodium. I found Nasalcrom nose sprey over the counter with Chromolyn Sodium as the active ingredient. I tried the Nasalcrom nose spray and Zyrtec and they seem to be working. I am not a medical person, so if anyone has experience with th...
