8 yo Recurring low grade fever persistent headache

Hi - I am new here and hoping for ideas for my son who has been suffering for a long time. Starting last February, my son has been getting prolonged episodes of low grade fever (99.3-100.3) and a daily persistent headache, localized in his right side forehead above his eyebrow. Three out of his four episodes have started with a very sore throat (strep tests neg.) and low grade fever that develops into the daily headache and fevers. The daly headache has no pattern except it is worse upon waking and often when he lays down to go to sleep at night or out of the blue throughout the day. The first episode lasted 3 months when he also had two episodes of hight fever. Initially his ped. thought sinus infection and prescribed a 10 day course of amoxicyllin. After this first course of antibiotic, his fever went away - but for only about 2 weeks - and the headache persisted. At this point his ped. wanted to look into neurological causes (head MRI normal, neurologist says all normal and not migraine). Eventually he was put on cefdinir for 3 weeks and the fevers and headache went away completely. Fast forward and he is currently having his fourth episode of these same symptoms (fevers, daily headache). He has been tested for mono, EBV, Lyme and all neg. The allergist found no allergies and dentist says all looks normal. His longer period of being headache and fever free (4 months) was after the 3 week course of antibiotics.
