Comparative Study of Complications Associated with Coblation Versus Conventional Tonsillectomy
Abstract Tonsillectomy is one of the most common ear, nose and throat surgical procedure, carried out worldwide1. Amongst the various method of tonsillectomy (diathermy, laser, harmonic scalpel, radiofrequency cautery cryosurgery and coblation), dissection and snare method is commonest procedure done by otorhinolaryngologist. To compare the post operative complications associated with coblation versus conventional cold-dissection steel tonsillectomy. We carried out the prospective study of complications associated with coblation versus conventional cold steel tonsillectomy in postoperative pain, anesthesia, hemorrhage, ...

Management of Localized Prostate Cancer in Men With Human Immunodeficiency Virus: Analysis of a Large Retrospective Cohort
CONCLUSION: We present the characteristics and outcomes of the largest cohort of HIV-positive men with prostate cancer in published literature. RP and RT ± ADT is well-tolerated in HIV-positive patients with PCa as seen by the adequate biochemical control and mild toxicity. CS resulted in worse PFS compared to alternative treatments for patients within the same PCa risk group. A decline in CD4 counts was observed in patients treated RT, and further studies are needed to investigate this relationship. Our findings support the use of standard-of-care treatment for localized PCa in HIV-positive patients.PMID:37208248 | DOI:1...

Suitable T stage for cryosurgery to spare the anus in patients with low rectal cancer
Cryobiology. 2023 May 12:S0011-2240(23)00036-6. doi: 10.1016/j.cryobiol.2023.05.004. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSphincter preserving therapy is a key research focus for treating low rectal cancer; however, the role of cryotherapy in this process has seldom been reported in the literature. Therefore, we conducted a comprehensive report on the role of cryoablation in sphincter preservation and explored its effect in rectal cancers. An observational study used longitudinal observation and follow-up. Participants were screened from patients whose medical records showed cryotherapy intervention for low rectal cancers from Ja...
