Predictive value of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging for adverse left ventricular remodeling after acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
CONCLUSION: The extent of infarct mass, peak radial diastolic strain rate, and RAAS inhibitor are independent predictors of adverse LV remodeling following STEMI.PMID:38597447 | PMC:PMC11006702 | DOI:10.12122/j.issn.1673-4254.2024.03.17 (Source: Journal of Southern Medical University)

Fubuki XF Long Sheath guide catheter use in neuroendovascular procedures: Institutional experience in 60 cases
CONCLUSION: We used Fubuki XF to safely and effectively deliver a variety of compatible neuroendovascular devices. Fubuki XF was stable in all cases and locations, and there were no device-related complications or dissections.PMID:38592015 | DOI:10.1177/15910199241245601 (Source: Interventional Neuroradiology)

Contemporary Risk Models for In-Hospital and 30-Day Mortality After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
AbstractPurpose of ReviewRisk models for mortality after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) are underutilized in clinical practice though they may be useful during informed consent, risk mitigation planning, and risk adjustment of hospital and operator outcomes. This review analyzed contemporary risk models for in-hospital and 30-day mortality after PCI.Recent FindingsWe reviewed eight contemporary risk models. Age, sex, hemodynamic status, acute coronary syndrome type, heart failure, and kidney disease were consistently found to be independent risk factors for mortality. These models provided good discrimination (C-...

Preoperative sizing to lower in-stent restenosis in peripheral arterial occlusive disease
The primary treatment for lower extremity peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAOD) is angioplasty-stenting. Its main complication is in-stent restenosis. Poor selection of stent dimensions has been identified as a factor contributing to early in-stent restenosis. The aim of this study is to determine whether the implantation of stents, selected based on arterial morphological reconstruction using sizing software, reduces the occurrence of in-stent restenosis. The study also aims to evaluate the potential benefits of routine preoperative sizing. (Source: Annals of Vascular Surgery)

Factors Influencing Time to First Medical Contact in Patients with Acute ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction: A Retrospective Analysis
CONCLUSIONS Patients with persistent chest tightness/pain, EMS admission, and vascular characteristics (RCADL or LCADL) experienced shorter S2FMC and higher compliance rate (S2FMC ≤180 min). At the same time, age and other vascular features played an inverse role. This study proposes enhancing follow-up and monitoring measures, and shows the consequences of intermittent chest pain should not be disregarded.PMID:38584384 | DOI:10.12659/MSM.942080 (Source: Medical Science Monitor)

The role of coronary artery disease in lung transplantation: a propensity-matched analysis
CONCLUSION: In this cohort, relevant CAD was not associated with worse outcomes and should therefore not be considered a contraindication for LuTx. Nonetheless, cardiovascular events in CAD patients highlight the necessity of control of cardiovascular risk factors and a structured cardiac follow-up.PMID:38587564 | DOI:10.1007/s00392-024-02445-y (Source: Clin Med Res)
