SurLym trial: study protocol for a multicentre pragmatic randomised controlled trial on the added value of reconstructive lymphatic surgery to decongestive lymphatic therapy for the treatment of lymphoedema
Introduction Lymphoedema is a chronic condition caused by lymphatic insufficiency. It leads to swelling of the limb/midline region and an increased risk of infection. Lymphoedema is often associated with mental and physical problems limiting quality of life. The first choice of treatment is a conservative treatment, consisting of exercises, skin care, lymph drainage and compression. Reconstructive lymphatic surgery is also often performed, that is, lymphovenous anastomoses, lymph node transfer or a combination. However, robust evidence on the effectiveness of reconstructive lymphatic surgery is missing. Therefore, the obje...

Coronary Artery Aneurysm with Fistula Associated with Tricuspid Valve Regurgitation
Ann Card Anaesth. 2024 Jan 1;27(1):76-78. doi: 10.4103/aca.aca_60_23. Epub 2024 Jan 12.ABSTRACTAneurysmal dilation of coronary arteries is a rare condition detected during coronary angiography. Due to their poorly elucidated underlying mechanisms, their variable presentations, and the lack of large-scale outcome data on their various treatment modalities, coronary artery aneurysms, and coronary ectasia pose a challenge to the managing clinician. This case presentation provides insight into the challenges regarding the management of the coronary artery aneurysm during the perioperative period.PMID:38722128 | PMC:PMC10876140...

Diagnostic Indicators of ECG for Coronary Slow Flow Phenomenon; a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest several ECG parameters, such as P max, Pd, QT, QTc, QTd, QTcd, Tp-e, and frontal QRS-T angle, may be prolonged in CSFP patients, and they could be employed as diagnostic indicators of CSFP before angiography.PMID:38721444 | PMC:PMC11077394 | DOI:10.22037/aaem.v12i1.2202 (Source: Accident and Emergency Nursing)

Renal Dysfunction Increases Risk of Adverse Cardiovascular Events in 5-Year Follow-Up Study of Intermediate Coronary Artery Lesions
CONCLUSIONS Mild-to-moderate renal dysfunction was not associated with significant differences in OCT- and IVUS-derived plaque morphology nor with functional indices characterizing intermediate-grade coronary stenoses. Renal dysfunction was related to a higher risk of all-cause mortality and major adverse cardiovascular events prevalence in 5-year follow-up.PMID:38720443 | DOI:10.12659/MSM.943956 (Source: Medical Science Monitor)
