Single-Cell Meta-Analysis of Neutrophil Activation in Kawasaki Disease and Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children Reveals Potential Shared Immunological Drivers
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings indicate that CD177+ neutrophils may exert systemic pathological damage contributing to the shared morbidities in KD and MIS-C. We uncovered potential regulatory drivers of CD177+ neutrophil hyperactivation and pathogenicity that may be targeted as a single therapeutic strategy for either KD or MIS-C.PMID:37905415 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.123.064734 (Source: Circulation)

Development and validation of presumptive spot test for the identification of z-drugs used in drug-facilitated crimes
AbstractThe significance and desire for preliminary testing approaches that are straightforward, quick, selective, affordable, and practical for use in the field are highlighted by the increasing enormous amounts of potentially illegal samples being seized worldwide. The “z-drugs,” which include zolpidem, zopiclone, and eszopiclone, are non-benzodiazepine medications used to treat insomnia. z-drugs are short-term solutions for sleeplessness and anxiety but have a long history of abuse and misuse. The extensive list is primarily utilized for drug-facilitated crim es and drug dependence. The presumptive color spot test f...

Water quality monitoring and assessment in coastal lagoons: Developing a protocol using a case study in Sainthamaruthu lagoon, Sri Lanka
This study aims to develop a protocol in terms of monitoring sites, parameters, and frequency for water quality monitoring using a case study in a coastal lagoon, in Sainthamaruthu, Sri Lanka. The physicochemical parameters were measured weekly at eighteen monitoring sites for 4  months during the dry season from June to September 2022. Cluster analysis (CA) along with Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) interpolation technique revealed that a minimum of three sites out of 18 are sufficient for monitoring water quality in the lagoon. In light of Principal Component Analysis (P CA) and Discriminant Analysis (DA), it was decide...
