Neonatal Liver Tumors

Malignant liver lesions are uncommon and make up approximately 1% of all pediatric malignancies, comprising approximately 150 new diagnoses each year in the United States. The most common malignancy involving the liver is metastatic disease from neuroblastoma, leukemia, Langerhans cell histiocytosis, or hemophagocytic syndromes. Benign livers lesions often can be well characterized radiographically. Infectious processes are even more rare. The differential diagnosis of both malignant and benign lesions is age dependent.
