Antibiotics prescriptions for pneumonia analyzed by claim information in Japan.

CONCLUSION: Approximately half of the antibiotics used for CAP requiring hospitalization consisted of CTRX or SBT/ABPC as recommended by the Japanese Respiratory Society (JRS) guidelines. On the other hand, the usage of broad-spectrum antibiotics and combination therapy were relatively frequent at all ages, although their use does not always contribute to survival. Our data provide basic information for analyzing the outcome of pneumonia treatment in terms of an antimicrobial resistance action plan in Japan. PMID: 33287955 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
