Sex-specific association between the gut microbiome and high-fat diet-induced metabolic disorders in mice

ConclusionsWe identified that sex had a greater impact on the composition of gut microbiota than environmental factors (HFD and antibiotics). The enrichment of beneficial microbes in female mice may be associated with the resistance of female mice to HFD-induced metabolic disorders, which was weakened by antibiotic pretreatment.
